What to Expect at a Wine Tasting at Whisper Path Cellars

We pride ourselves on offering the best and most intimate wine tasting experience in the San Antonio area. Whether you’re a first-timer or a frequent visitor to Texas wineries, our tastings are designed to be educational, enjoyable, and unpretentious. Our private tastings are perfect for birthdays, romantic dates, anniversaries, bachelor/bachelorette parties, small corporate or club events, and more!

When You Arrive:
We are an urban winery, meaning we are in the city and thus don't have a vineyard. Our winery is in a commercial building, but don't let the facade fool you! Our space inside is comfortable and inviting. When you walk in, you’ll be greeted by our team and guided to your tasting spot surrounded by barrels in the working winery facility.

What You’ll Taste:
Our standard tasting includes 6 of our current wines, typically a mix of red, rose and white. You’ll learn about the grapes, the process, and ideal food pairings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What? San Antonio has a winery?

This is by far the most frequently asked of all the questions we get. Yes! We are San Antonio's own full process winery. We are family owned, native San Antonian business.

What about pets?

We welcome well-behaved pets! Please note our tasting room is indoors with no place for pets to roam, and there is limited grassy area outside the building. Dogs must be on-leash at all times.

Can we bring our own food/snacks?

Yes! Bar top space is limited, so we don't recommend bringing anything large.

Is there a discount for club members?

Yes, and it's a good one! Our club members get a free tasting or glass of wine for 2 people each month. If you sign up during your visit, we'll waive the cost of your tasting.

Do you have a vineyard?

We are an urban winery, meaning we are in a commercial building and do not have a vineyard on site.

Are wine tastings family-friendly?

Children are more than welcome (we are a family winery after all), but keep in mind there is heavy machinery and not much to entertain kids.

How long is each tasting?

We typically suggest to allocate about an hour for just a wine tasting. Any added services, like small bites, will add to that time. If there's time for it, feel free to enjoy an extra glass with your group afterward.

Do I need a reservation?

Yes! We schedule tastings by advance reservation only. We are not able to accommodate walk-ins...yet!

What Should I Bring?

The atmosphere is warm, but the temperature is not! For the benefit of our wine in-process, we keep the winery cool (in the low- to mid-60s Fahrenheit). You may want to bring a jacket just in case.
