About the event
The Gruene Music & Wine Festival began in 1987 as a one-day event promoting Texas and Americana music while raising funds for the United Way of Comal County. It has since expanded into a multi-day celebration, featuring Texas music, wine, and beer. Despite its growth, the festival's primary beneficiary remains the United Way, which enhances the quality of life for Comal County residents. Starting with just $450 raised in 1987, the event contributed $283,674.85 in 2023, becoming a highlight of the annual United Way campaign.
